Botanical Drawing and Painting - Capturing Nature in Art
Come along and spend the day with me at Selwyn College in Auckland, where we'll dive into the world of botanical
drawing and painting. Whether you're a complete beginner, a gardening enthusiast, or an artist looking for a fresh creative outlet, this workshop is for you!
The day will cover essential topics, including an introduction to botany, an overview of contemporary botanical art, and techniques for creating tonal drawings with ink and graphite. After lunch, we’ll move on to watercolour, learning how to transfer your drawing to watercolour paper and apply various techniques to start your painting.
By the end of the session, you’ll have the knowledge to continue developing your painting at home.

Nature Journaling - discover New Zealand's native flora
Come along to the Fernglen Eco Day, part of Ecofest 2026, learn about the gardens and have a go at nature journaling.
I will be running free introductory sessions where you can try your hand at journaling - all materials and equipment provided, or if you already enjoy nature journaling, bring your sketchbook and join in.
